insect life at on form

We love watching the insects on the sculpture. The first picture shows “Hungry Fruit” by Kim Francis, apparently about to make a meal of some snails; the second shows a dragonfly hatching on the leg of the beautiful Parvati (by Aly Brown) on the pool, and the third shows a mayfly on the face of David Klein’s “Forest Guardian”.

Later this month, artist Miranda Johnston is coming to work at Asthall for a few days and one of her interests is this extraordinary juxtaposition between the brief busy lives of insects and the long aeons  embedded in the stone.
