Travelling to on form by bus

Bus 233 runs from Woodstock to Burford, stopping at the top of the road that runs down to Asthall. From there it’s an easy 15-25 minute walk from the bus stop, depending on your walking pace, and whether you stop to admire the view! When you reach the fork in the road, turn left and walk down between the avenue of trees, to the large stone gateway (topped of course, with sculpture!)

Make sure you get the bus which stops near Asthall, not the one which goes via Carterton – usually every other bus. If in doubt, ask the driver, and say you want to get off at the Asthall turn / Windmill restaurant roundabout.

We haven’t found the Stagecoach journey planner to be very accurate, so here is one we have adapted especially for your visit!

The Villager V20 Community Bus runs from Bledington to Witney, also stopping at the Asthall turn / Windmill roundabout,
