Donald Hamilton Fraser said: “An artist doesn’t really choose what sort of pictures he paints. He paints what is there inside him, It is a sort of imperative.”
In this workshop, develop your own approach to abstracting a landscape, working with oils and palette knife on paper, and explore how Fraser’s painting style links with Nicholas De Stael’s way of layering thick paint to produce a collage-like effect.
All materials provided apart from A3 hot pressed (smooth) heavy weight cartridge paper and landscape photographs to use as a subject reference, which you will need to bring.
Workshop price £55. To book, go to: https://www.artcoursesoxford.com
