Steven’s sculptures are concerned with creating narratives via a combination of figurative and architectural elements. His most recent work is a continuation of this theme, with forms that capture moments of both creation and destruction and explore the visceral interactions that can arise during the carving of a material like stone into figurative forms. Steven uses 3D software to plan his sculptures, allowing him to experiment with different configurations and ideas before beginning work on the physical object.
After initially training in and practicing architecture, Steven completed a Diploma in Architectural Stone Carving at the City and Guilds of London Art School. As well as being a sculptor, he works as a photographer and 3D visualiser from his studio in South London.
