Rob Good’s cloud sculptures have evolved significantly from his previous stylised forms. Now working from clay and plaster maquettes, he creates more realistic representations which aim to portray the lightness, weightlessness and dramatic energy of clouds. Employing various approaches, such as hollowing out or combining separate stones, each fantastical work conveys an enchanting narrative.
Rob was born in London in 1982. He holds a first class degree in sculpture from the University of Leeds, and an MA from Chelsea College of Art and Design. Rob was the last winner of the Brian Mercer Fellowship for a sculptor working in stone, and spent three months at Studio Sem in Pietrasanta in 2017. The work that he made during this time was recently shown at the Royal Society of Sculptors in London.
