Peter’s practice has always been informed and inspired by the study of natural phenomena and its subjective impact on our emotions. In recent years his work has become increasingly concerned with the underlying principles determining growth and the forms it produces. Peter is showing five pieces at on form this year, four of which are being shown for the first time in the UK.
Geometry is the theme on which nature plays her infinite variations, and can be seen as a kind of pattern book on which the most complex and sophisticated structures are based.
Peter was born in 1954 and studied sculpture at Bath Academy of Art from 1973-1977. During the past 25 years, Peter’s sculpture, drawings and prints have gained him an international reputation. His work is held in public and private collections all over the world. Peter was a member of the design team for the Education Resource Centre at the Eden Project in Cornwall, influencing the design of the building by incorporating an enormous granite sculpture, Seed, at its heart.
The full range of sculpture will be available to view and buy from Saturday 13 June at 10am.
