Sergio Baroni

Sergio Baroni was born in 1989 at Ponte dell’Olio, Italy, and grew up in Pietrasanta, surrounded by sculptures, marble studios and bronze foundries. In his mother’s sculpting studio, he lived alongside artists and artisans, developing his own sculptures in marble and clay, whilst also studying fine arts, art history and biology.

This collection is the natural artistic outcome of Sergio’s innate interest in biology, combined with the beauty of the most candid Statuario marble. Sergio’s Marmiferi are timeless lifeforms that speak to our soul through the language of our childhood, our dreams, our infinite imagination. Each one of these magical, dreamy creatures is sculpted entirely by hand, from the first sketches to the final polishing touch. Some have horns, some have shells, some are absorbing nourishment from beautiful luxurious flowers, some are sleeping and some awake. Are they creatures from the past? Or are they from the future? Where do they come from?
