Kieran Stiles Art Workshop – Acrylic Woodlands

Explore ways of describing peripheral vision by overlapping washes of acrylic on canvas to create an almost completely abstract start point.  Once this non-pictorial part of the painting is dry, the focal point of tree forms can be introduced. We will be working mainly from direct observation in the gardens of Asthall Manor. Tree Planting – Come and be part of nature recovery in Asthall!

We are delighted to have received funding from the International Tree Foundation, which enables us to plant 1100 whips of native species of hedgerow at Asthall Manor. We’re looking for volunteers to help to plant the whips across our Cowshed Field, (opposite Asthall Manor) with the hope to link up the biodiversity of the Asthall Manor Kitchen garden with the Asthall allotments and beyond. Asthall Manor Summer Open Day in aid of The Oxford Samaritans

We are pleased to announce that Asthall will be opening its gardens for one special day this summer, in the aid of The Oxford Samaritans. Oxford Samaritans first opened in 1963. Now with around 170 volunteers in an average month, they spend 800 hours on the phone, answering 2,500 phone calls.  They are open 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support to anyone who may be experiencing feelings of distress or despair; including those that may lead to…
