Friday 22 June

Jun 22, 2018 | 10:00 | 10am - 4pm. (Workshop includes early entrance to the exhibition at 10am.) | Asthall Manor

Explore the concept of ‘light isolation’ and how directional light on the garden and sculptures at Asthall can be made to burst into life in an oil painting. Kieran Stiles will show you how to work from direct observation and drawn studies. Included in the workshop will be step by step advice on how to build a painting. From balancing forms, and planning your composition, to the development of colour and brush techniques.

All materials included, apart from an A4 sketch pad for notes and preparatory observational studies, which you will need to bring.

Lunch is not included, but The Potting Shed Cafe will be open for lunch, or you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
