Regis Chaperon
Regis Chaperon began work as a stone mason at 17, and travelled around his native France for 10 years learning the skills needed to work with stone. His artistic vision took him to Italy, where he worked for three years between Pietrasanta and Carrara.
At the University of Fine Arts in Valencia, he studied anatomy, portrait, wood, ceramics and stone.
His work currently revolves around the concepts of family, protection and roundness. He is also interested in the dynamics of a petrified instant. He creates movement in his sculpture that reflects the movement of his life, since he is always looking for new challenges and dreaming of different projects.
Currently he resides in Oxford. Recently he has created the artistic group, “ARC”, with his partner, the Spanish sculptor Ana Ruiz Agui.
