sibylle pasche

Sibylle is inspired by natural processes, finding poetry in the simple shapes we come across in daily life. Such shapes and structures become a basis for development, which proceeds according to her particular ideas about rhythm and proportion. The durability of the materials she works with acts as a comforting contrast to the fast pace of the modern world. Working mostly in stone, Sibylle is known for her large outdoor sculptures: boulder-like objects often revealing delicate internal and external structures while weighing several tons.

Sibylle divides her time between Carrara, Italy, where she realizes her big projects close to the quarries of fine Carrara marble and Zurich, Switzerland, where she grew up and runs her own studio. She studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara from 1996 to 2000, going on to teach at the Liceo Artistico in Zurich. She has exhibited widely in Europe and North and South America. Public or private commissions of her work can be found in Asia, North and South America as well as throughout Europe.
