Katusha Bull

Katusha was born and raised in Hong Kong and lived in Australia for 20 years. Since moving to London she has studied Portraiture and Figurative Sculpture at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art in London. In 2005 she became an Associate of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and was recently elected a Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. Her work is in collections in the UK, USA, Australia, China, Macau, Malta, Hong Kong, Norway and India.

In Katusha’s sculpture she strives to find the ideal form from each piece of stone that she works; to exploit to the utmost the inherent qualities of that stone and release the magic worked by millions of years of nature. She sources beautiful stones very rarely seen in Britain, from annual expeditions to Colorado where she works at a sculpture camp high up in the Rocky Mountains. Her craftsmanship, manifest in the purest of forms, creates sculptures that satisfy the eye with their balance and harmony. The painstaking attention she devotes to achieving the perfect finished surface is rewarded by the way her sculptures absorb any light around them and come to life.
